We own and manage broiler farms and are currently looking for a highly competent and motivated Assistant Farm Manager, to support our Farm Manager.

The Role
Working closely with the farm management team, your main responsibility as Assistant Farm Manager will be for the wellbeing and performance of the livestock and will extend, by definition, to the up-keep and appearance of the whole site.
Key responsibilities will include:
● Uphold optimum environmental conditions, ensuring high standards of animal welfare, hygiene, husbandry practice and bio-security are maintained.
● Complete feeding, vaccinating.
● Ensure site maintenance and general standards are met and completed
● Supervise staff and third parties whilst on site, ensuring adherence to Health and Safety procedures
● Comply with legislative and assurance scheme standards
● Maintain accurate records including: Generator, alarm logs, crop records, medication register, accident book etc.
● Operate the farm within effective cost management parameters
● Working on other farm sites, as and when needed
● Supporting in the Farm manager’s absence with other staff
● Reporting to the Farm Manager/Area Manager on a daily basis being audit ready at all times
Hours of Work
We operate a 6 day working week from 07.30 – 16.00 inclusive of weekends with the occasional night shift on a rota system.
● 34 Days holiday including bank holidays.
● Full comprehensive training.
● £14 per hour
What we require from you:
● Own transport is essential - you may be required to travel to different sites
● Previous livestock experience, not necessarily in poultry but recommended
● NVQ/Diploma level 2 in poultry production or similar agricultural qualification is desirable but training will be given
● Need to have effective communication and people skills.
● Demonstrate a willingness to learn and self-motivation
● Able to work with minimal supervision and carry out manual duties
● Basic IT skills needed
● Due to Bird Welfare, it is essential that you do not own any Avian Pets or Poultry.
