Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our small team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting small groups of children and adults with special education needs and disabilities to carry out tasks and activities across the farm. These include animal care, horticulture and other practical jobs. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work outdoors, contributing to the productivity and sustainability of our farm and to the development and wellbeing or our learners. The position involves being outside in all weathers!
Responsibilities
- Support clients to safely carry out animal management and other practical and educational activities around the farm including horticulture (planting, growing, watering), practical skills (woodwork/carpentry/DIY), land management, maintenance (depending on skills and experience)
- Work with the Education Team Lead to plan and review activities, ensuring that sessions are adapted to meet students' needs
- Record and evidence learning and observations
- Deliver and AQA Unit Award Scheme
Qualifications/Experience
- Previous experience working with children and/or adults with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or social and emotional difficulties.
- Animal care experience is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
- Physical fitness to perform manual work and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Days
This role is 10 hours per week. 5 hours on Monday, 5 hours on Thursday.
