Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Sign Maker to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and experience with various power and hand tools. As a Sign Maker, you will be responsible for creating high-quality signage that meets client specifications while ensuring safety and efficiency in your work.
Duties
- Design and fabricate signs using a variety of materials, including vinyl, wood, metal, and plastics.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively to cut, shape, and assemble sign components.
- Perform heavy lifting as required to transport materials and finished products.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide recommendations for sign design and placement.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are stored properly.
- Conduct quality checks on completed signs to ensure they meet company standards before delivery or installation.
- Assist in the installation of signs at various locations as needed.
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Experience using power tools such as saws, drills, and routers is essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) safely.
- Proficiency with hand tools including chisels, hammers, and measuring devices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
- Previous experience in sign making or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
