Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support to individuals in various care settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and private homes. Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Administer medication following prescribed care plans and medical instructions
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Support patients with activities of daily living and behaviour management strategies
- Document patient progress and update care plans accordingly
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive environment
- Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration and care activities
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean and safe living environment
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated patient care
Requirements
- Valid first aid certification is essential; additional nursing or medical training is advantageous
- Proven experience in nursing home, home care, or care home environments preferred
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's, dementia, and hospice care practices is desirable
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely when required for mobility assistance or equipment handling
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and case management principles
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage behaviour effectively
- Valid driving licence for transportation duties is preferred but not mandatory
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals
- Ability to work flexible hours including shifts that may involve evenings or weekends if necessary
