Kurt Hobbs Coachworks is a well-established and respected manufacturer of bespoke commercial vehicle bodies and specialist transport solutions. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Assembler / Welder Fabricator to join our skilled production team.
This is a hands-on role where quality, teamwork and attention to detail are essential. If you have experience in MIG welding, fabrication and assembly work and enjoy working within a busy manufacturing environment, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role
As an Assembler / Welder Fabricator, you will be involved in the manufacture and assembly of commercial vehicle bodies and bespoke vehicle solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- MIG welding steel and aluminium components.
- Fabricating and assembling commercial vehicle bodies and associated parts.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Measuring, cutting and preparing materials.
- Using a variety of workshop machinery and hand tools.
- Ensuring all work meets the company's high-quality standards.
- Carrying out final assembly of fabricated components.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the production team.
Please note that this is a physically demanding role and will involve regular heavy lifting and manual handling.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in producing high-quality workmanship.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in MIG welding.
- Experience within fabrication, assembly or engineering manufacturing.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Experience using fabrication equipment and hand tools.
- Good attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good awareness of health and safety within a workshop environment.
Experience within commercial vehicle manufacturing, coachbuilding, trailer manufacturing or heavy engineering would be highly advantageous but is not essential.
