We are recruiting Production Operatives to support ongoing production requirements for our client, a leading well known Darlington manufacturing business.
This is an excellent opportunity for reliable, hard-working individuals who enjoy hands-on work and being part of a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Previous manufacturing experience is preferred, however attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are equally important.
As a Production Operative, duties may include:
- Loading and operating production machinery (following training and procedures)
- Assembly line work - using hand tools
- Packing finished products to specification
- Using hand tools safely and effectively
- Supporting production targets and maintaining quality standards
- Carrying out manual handling activities safely
- Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Keeping work areas clean, organised and safe
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain production flow
This is a Monday to Friday position with rotating or fixed shift patterns depending on business requirements.
Typical shifts may include:
- 8:00am – 4:45pm
- 6:00am – 2:00pm
- 2:00pm – 10:00pm
There may also be opportunities for overtime during the week and occasional Saturday mornings, paid at an enhanced overtime rate.

- Are comfortable working in a busy production environment
- Understand the importance of quality and attention to detail
- Demonstrate a strong awareness of Health & Safety
- Can carry out physical work safely and responsibly
Experience
- Previous manufacturing, factory, production, assembly or warehouse experience preferred
- Experience using hand tools would be advantageous
- Full training provided
