Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team, on a minimum 6 month fixed term contract. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to ensure efficient movement of goods within the factory/yard areas.
Duties
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load/unload goods from yard stock onto lorries.
- Move materials in the yard, ensuring proper placement and organization of stock.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment and record, to ensure safe operation and report any maintenance needs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
- Work with the wider team wrapping pallets, repairing broken pallets and sorting through rejected stock.
- Ideally this would suit a multiskilled driver with experience in loading vehicles definitely an asset.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse environment. Desirable: experience with operating grab trucks.
- Familiarity with materials handling techniques and safety regulations.
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely.
- Experience loading vehicles is advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members.
