The Role
At Tameside, our vision for the Planning & Building Control Services is to say ‘yes’ to good development openly and quickly.
To deliver our service improvements and maintain service delivery, we are looking to recruit a Technical Support Officer to join our busy Technical Support Team. This will primarily entail delivering an excellent, customer focussed Building Control service.
In the role of Technical Support Officer, you will be expected to provide technical and administrative support within the service in a flexible manner. This will ensure that an effective, efficient and customer focussed service is delivered within required timescales and to a high standard. The role is part of a highly skilled, technical support team and is pivotal in registering, validating and processing all building control applications and providing critical support across the whole service.
There will also be opportunities to provide Technical Support to the Planning, Policy, Enforcement and Land Charges services, through the processing of applications and otherwise assisting our professional teams/services.
The role is hybrid and to be worked flexibly from home and our offices at Tameside One, Ashton under Lyne
About You
You must be organised, analytical and confident, with excellent IT skills and high levels
of care and accuracy in your work. You will also need to have a flexible and proactive approach to work, great people skills, the ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving environment and the willingness to support change and innovation. Ideally you will have a basic knowledge of the Building Control functions and have experience of working within a Building Control or Planning environment.
