We’re looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and sales-driven Highlandwear Sales Specialist to join our busy souvenir store team.
This is more than a traditional retail role. You’ll be helping customers from all over the world discover Scottish heritage and find Highlandwear that is right for them — whether they are looking for a kilt for a special occasion, a tartan gift or a complete Highland outfit.
The Role
As our Highlandwear Sales Specialist, you will become a key member of our store team and a go-to person for customers looking for Highlandwear.
You will be responsible for:
- Welcoming customers and providing a warm, knowledgeable and professional service.
- Understanding customer requirements and confidently recommending suitable Highlandwear products.
- Advising customers on kilts, tartans, jackets, waistcoats, shirts, accessories and Highlandwear outfits.
- Supporting customers with sizing, fitting and product selection.
- Helping customers understand different tartans and Highlandwear options.
- Building customer confidence and creating a memorable shopping experience.
- Actively driving sales and maximising every customer opportunity.
- Recommending complementary products and accessories to increase sales.
- Working towards individual and store sales targets.
- Developing strong product knowledge and keeping up to date with our Highlandwear ranges.
- Maintaining excellent standards of presentation across the Highlandwear department.
- Replenishing stock and ensuring products are correctly displayed and readily available.
- Processing sales accurately through the EPOS system.
- Handling cash and card transactions in accordance with company procedures.
- Supporting stock deliveries, stock checks and general store operations.
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure the store operates effectively during busy periods.
- Taking ownership of customer enquiries and following through to ensure excellent service.
- Supporting the wider team when required.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who combines retail experience, sales ability and genuine enthusiasm for Highlandwear and Scottish heritage.
You will ideally have:
- Previous retail sales experience, preferably within clothing, fashion, Highlandwear or a specialist retail environment.
- Strong sales and customer service skills.
- Confidence approaching customers and initiating conversations.
- A natural ability to understand what a customer is looking for and make appropriate recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The confidence to discuss products, sizing, styling and purchasing options with customers.
- A strong commercial awareness and desire to achieve sales targets.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- A proactive, positive and forward-thinking approach.
- The ability to remain calm and professional in a busy, high-footfall environment.
- Flexibility to work weekends and during our busiest seasonal periods.
Specialist Knowledge
Previous Highlandwear experience would be highly advantageous, but it isn't essential if you have the right retail experience and a genuine interest in learning.
We will provide product training to help you develop your knowledge.
