Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Early Years Practitioner (EYP) to join our childcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children in a nursery environment. This role involves overseeing daily activities, supporting staff, and ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for young children. The Senior EYP will play a key role in implementing early childhood education programmes and fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of early years practitioners to deliver high-quality care and education.
- Plan, organise, and evaluate age-appropriate activities that promote children's development across all areas.
- Support children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development through positive guidance and interaction.
- Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their child's progress and well-being.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and early years curriculum standards.
- Assist in the induction and training of new staff members to uphold organisational standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of nursery practices through reflective practice and feedback.
- Drive initiatives that promote inclusive practices and support children with additional needs.
Skills
- Proven management and leadership experience within early childhood education or childcare settings.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and nursery best practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Experience working directly with children in a nursery or similar environment; childcare qualifications are desirable.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst also demonstrating initiative independently.
- Compassionate approach with the ability to build trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Organised with the capacity to plan effectively whilst managing multiple priorities.

Pay: £13.30 per hour
