Will Chemist is recruiting a full/part time Pharmacy Assistant for an immediate start to assist the pharmacist and the pharmacy team in a busy, family run Aberdeenshire community pharmacy based in Inverurie. The position will be predominantly based at our branch on West High Street, Inverurie with occasional shifts to support our branch based on Burghmuir Drive, Inverurie. Experience in Community Pharmacy environment desired, but not essential. Experience in customer service/retail is essential.
Approx 30 to 37.5 hours per week across 4 or 5 days (plus Saturday rota).
Rate of pay based on experience and qualification.

The role of the Pharmacy Assistant is to support the pharmacy team to achieve our goal in delivering excellent service to our customers, providing an exceptional service to our community whilst maintaining high standards at all times.
Working alongside our knowledgeable Pharmacists and Team Members, you will be instrumental in the efficient delivery of pharmacy processes to ensure the safe, accurate and timely supply of prescribed medicines to patients. You will also be required to provide advice on common illness and minor ailments in order to supply over the counter medicines where appropriate. This role maintains a high level of competence to ensure the safe dispensing of medicines to customers.
As a pharmacy assistant your day will be full of a variety of duties and responsibilities. A typical day would include;-
- Greeting and serving customers, locating and retrieving prescriptions, answering any questions that they may have.
- Checking customer details ensuring a high level of accuracy.
- Using our computer system to log "in storage" prescriptions and updating of the system once prescriptions have been issued to customers.
- Interact and communicate with members of the public in a kind, warm & friendly empathetic manner.
- Provide advice on common illness and minor ailments in order to supply over the counter medicines where appropriate.
- Stock replenishment.
- Cleaning.
- Additionally, maintain a safe working environment adhering to H&S guidelines, undertake regular training and refresher training.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and enjoys a busy environment where organisation and customer service are key skills. A team player with a "passion to deliver excellent care" in our pharmacy.
Applicant should be attentive to patients, have good communication and organisational skills. Applicant should be able to be flexible towards working hours, sometimes at short notice, and available to work some Saturdays across the year as the business requires. Applicant should be familiar with the locality and its' population.
Applicant preferably has pharmacy experience although training is provided.
