Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled QA Analyst to join our dynamic software development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of our software products through comprehensive testing and analysis. This role requires a strong understanding of software testing methodologies, automation tools, and development processes, with a focus on delivering reliable and high-quality solutions. The QA Analyst will collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to facilitate seamless integration and deployment of software applications across various platforms and environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute detailed test cases, scripts, and plans to validate software functionality against specified requirements.
- Conduct various types of testing including functional, system, performance, load, user acceptance, and regression testing to ensure software quality.
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, and JUnit to improve testing efficiency.
- Analyse test results to identify root causes of defects and collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Integrate automated tests within continuous integration pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps to facilitate rapid deployment cycles.
- Participate in requirements gathering sessions to understand business needs and translate them into comprehensive test strategies.
- Support release management activities by validating new releases and ensuring smooth deployment processes.
- Perform API testing using REST and SOAP protocols; monitor system performance through LoadRunner or similar tools.
- Document defects clearly in issue tracking systems such as Jira or TFS; track progress until resolution.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) processes and industry best practices in quality assurance.
- Provide technical support during user acceptance testing (UAT) phases; assist end-users with testing procedures when necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience in software quality assurance with a strong understanding of SDLC methodologies including Waterfall and Agile frameworks.
- Proficiency in test automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, TestNG, JUnit, or similar frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with continuous integration tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid knowledge of programming languages including Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript for developing automated tests.
- Familiarity with API testing (REST/SOAP), performance testing (LoadRunner), and system testing procedures.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and debugging across diverse platforms including Windows, Linux, Android, iOS, and cloud environments like AWS or Azure.
- Experience working with databases such as MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB or DB2; proficient in writing SQL queries for data validation.
- Understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, XML, JSON; experience with web services architecture (SOA) is advantageous.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and documenting test results clearly.
