As we continue to grow, we are looking for an enthusiastic Graduate Field Engineer to join our team in Poundbury, Dorset. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to begin a career working with advanced sensing technology on projects around the world.
The Role
As a Graduate Field Engineer, you will work closely with experienced engineers and software specialists to support the installation, commissioning, testing, and operation of Sintela systems. You will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge fiber optic sensing technology and have the opportunity to travel internationally to support customer deployments and trials.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem solving, technology, field-based work, and learning in a fast-paced engineering environment.
The role is based in our office in Poundbury, Dorset and will include international travel to other offices and client sites as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and delivery of field installations and customer trials
- Support commissioning and testing of Sintela ONYX™ systems
- Work with engineers and customers to analyse sensing data and system performance
- Help configure and optimise detection software and algorithms
- Participate in customer demonstrations and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs)
- Carry out quality checks on recorded sensing data
- Support troubleshooting and technical investigations
- Build strong working relationships with customers and project partners
- Contribute to continuous improvement of installation and operational procedures
What We’re Looking For
- A recent graduate with a degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Geophysics, Electronics, Data Science, or a related STEM discipline
- Strong interest in technology, sensing systems, or signal processing
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally when required
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
- Full UK driving licence preferred
Desirable Skills (Not Essential)
- Knowledge of fiber optics, acoustics, or sensing technologies
- Experience with Python, MATLAB, or data analysis tools
- Understanding of signal processing concepts
- Experience working on technical projects or placements
