Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
- Handle accounts payable processes, verifying invoices, processing payments, and maintaining vendor relationships.
- Support financial services functions including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to inform strategic planning.
- Mentor and guide junior accountants, providing training on best practices and technical skills in financial accounting.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls related to financial management.
- Assist with audits by preparing documentation, supporting schedules, and responding to auditor inquiries.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role within the financial services industry or corporate environment.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or equivalent systems.
- Strong understanding of financial management principles including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger accounting.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor team members and foster professional development.
- Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements related to financial accounting.
