Business Development Manager — Dellish
We're hiring a Business Development Manager to drive B2B and institutional sales for Dellish a food tech company, targeting sectors including hotel chains, cruise lines, dark stores and camps. This is a full-time, relationship-led sales role with some marketing demand-generation support behind it.
This is a hunter role at its core: much of what you'll be selling into is currently supplied by someone else — an existing meal producer, contract caterer, or co-packer. Your job is to find the right door, open it, and make the case that our product is better.
Key responsibilities:
- Generate and manage your own sales pipeline on an ongoing basis, through personal industry contacts, warm introductions, and direct outreach.
- Identify companies currently supplying institutional buyers (meal producers, contract caterers, co-packers) and pitch Dellish's product as a replacement, securing samples/trials and converting them into standing volume contracts.
- Provide a weekly report on pipeline status, deal progress, and channel performance, including recommendations on where marketing spend may be justified.
- Coordinate with the compliance function to ensure allergen specifications, HACCP documentation, and procurement paperwork are in place at each stage of the sales process.
- Work across all relevant verticals and channels rather than a single fixed market segment.
What we're looking for:
- Proven track record in B2B sales, ideally within institutional or contract foodservice, food manufacturing, or a closely related sector.
- Existing relationships with procurement, production, or commercial contacts at companies that supply institutional food buyers.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-management skills, with the ability to manage a long sales cycle from first contact through to signed volume commitment.
- Working knowledge of, or comfort with, food compliance and documentation requirements (HACCP, allergen specs, procurement paperwork).
- Basic marketing awareness — able to assess when a sales/marketing channel is worth investing in and recommend accordingly, without requiring hands-on campaign execution experience.
- Self-directed and comfortable proposing strategy and pipeline plans rather than only executing instructions.
