Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and versatile experienced Barista to join our team. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality beverages, assisting with food preparation, and providing excellent customer service in a vibrant café environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering a welcoming experience and capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as toasting sandwiches, making salads and serving baked goods
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area in accordance with food safety standards
- Serve customers efficiently and courteously, taking orders accurately and handling payments
- Manage stock levels, restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation
- Uphold food safety regulations at all times, ensuring hygiene standards are maintained
- Support team members during busy periods by assisting with general duties around the café
- Ensure timely delivery of orders to minimise wait times for customers
Skills
- Proven Barista experience and strong interest in coffee making and beverage preparation
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a food service environment
- Experience in serving customers with excellent communication skills
- Basic food preparation skills for assembling menu items efficiently
- Good time management skills to handle multiple orders during busy periods effectively
- Strong organisational skills to keep work areas clean and stocked
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a friendly attitude
