M&E Quantity Surveyor – Permanent
Location: London or Bristol
Salary: £70,000 - £80,000
Sphere Solutions are recruiting for an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a leading building services contractor on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a growing commercial team, working on high-value mechanical and electrical projects across a range of sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and data centres.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial management of M&E projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring profitability while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial aspects of multiple M&E projects.
- Prepare cost plans, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Procure and manage subcontractor packages.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and cash flow.
- Review contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Attend client and project meetings.
- Work closely with Project Managers and site teams to maximise project performance.
- Prepare and present accurate commercial reports to senior management.
- Negotiate subcontractor accounts and client variations.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor within the building services industry.
- Strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical installations.
- Experience managing commercial aspects of construction projects from start to finish.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial software packages.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
