Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activities Co-ordinator to enhance the quality of life for residents in our care home. The successful candidate will plan, organise, and facilitate engaging activities tailored to the needs and interests of our residents, including those requiring specialised dementia and Alzheimer’s care. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a diverse programme of activities suitable for residents with varying needs, including senior care, dementia care, and Alzheimer’s care.
- Organise group events, individual activities, and outings that promote socialisation, mental stimulation, and physical wellbeing.
- Collaborate with care staff to assess residents’ interests, preferences, and abilities to personalise activity plans.
- Encourage participation from all residents whilst respecting their individual choices and limitations.
- Maintain accurate records of activities undertaken and resident participation for reporting purposes.
- Foster a warm, welcoming environment that promotes engagement and enjoyment among residents.
- Stay informed about best practices in assisted living and caregiving to continually improve activity offerings.
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living or nursing home environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of senior care, dementia care, and Alzheimer’s care is essential.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Strong organisational skills to plan and coordinate diverse activities efficiently.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for enhancing the wellbeing of older adults.
- Ability to adapt activities to meet individual needs while maintaining safety standards.
- Creative thinking to develop innovative programmes that engage residents across different levels of ability. Pay: £13.00 per hour
