Job Overview
Oakley Wilsons is seeking an experienced Gas Safe Plumbing & Heating Engineer to join our growing refurbishment team. This role is ideal for someone who can take ownership of all domestic plumbing and heating works, including the installation, servicing and certification of gas boilers, while also delivering high-quality bathroom installations and general plumbing across residential refurbishment projects.
We are looking for a reliable, self-motivated engineer who takes pride in producing exceptional work, communicates well with both colleagues and customers, and enjoys working as part of a skilled refurbishment team.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, repair and maintain domestic gas boilers and central heating systems.
- Commission and self-certify/sign off domestic gas boiler installations in accordance with Gas Safe regulations.
- Diagnose and repair faults on gas heating systems and plumbing installations.
- Carry out high-quality plumbing installations, including bathrooms, WCs, showers, baths, shower trays, radiators and hot and cold water systems.
- Complete first and second fix plumbing works on residential refurbishment projects.
- Ensure all gas and plumbing works comply with current Building Regulations, Water Regulations and Gas Safe requirements.
- Work closely with electricians, carpenters, decorators and other trades to deliver high-quality refurbishments.
- Work efficiently to programme deadlines while maintaining exceptional workmanship.
- Provide clear communication with the office, including progress updates and photographs of completed works.
- Represent Oakley Wilsons professionally in occupied and vacant residential properties.
Essential Requirements
- Current Gas Safe Registration (essential).
- Qualified to install, commission and certify/sign off domestic gas boiler installations.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in domestic plumbing and heating.
- Strong experience installing complete bathrooms and carrying out first and second fix plumbing.
- Experience fault-finding and repairing domestic plumbing and heating systems.
- Excellent understanding of current Gas Safe regulations and plumbing standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work.
- Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.
- Full clean UK driving licence.
- Ability to pass a DBS check.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday
- 7:00 am – 4:00 pm
- 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
- 9:00 am – 6:00 pm

- Salary of £45,000–£55,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
