The Role:
We're seeking a detail-oriented Senior Financial Accountant to join our Financial Control team. You'll work closely with internal teams and external auditors to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting across multiple entities.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit Support & Coordination
Support the planning and coordination of US and UK GAAP audit timetables, managing audit requests, gathering supporting documentation, responding to auditor queries through investigation and analysis, and liaising with internal teams to provide necessary explanations.
Payroll Accounting
Review, approve, and reconcile monthly payroll entries, ensuring accurate loading into the accounting system, completing payroll-related balance sheet reconciliations, and investigating and resolving discrepancies.
Financial Statements Preparation
Prepare financial statement workings and documents in OneSource for 35+ entities, including year-end financials prepared in Excel and financial statement PDFs. Post audit adjustments in PeopleSoft (our financial system), primarily US to UK GAAP corrections and timing differences.
Monthly General Ledger Close
Manage GL close activities including journal posting, balance sheet reconciliation preparation and review (both team-prepared and shared service centre-prepared), transaction analysis, posting corrections, and preparing monthly variance commentary (month-over-month and quarter-over-quarter movement analysis with supporting explanations).
VAT Compliance
Participate in the preparation of quarterly UK Group VAT returns, including reconciliation of source documents to the general ledger, review of AP/AR invoices for correct VAT treatment, journal posting following submission, and preparation of monthly payment requests.
Payment Practices Reporting
Coordinate half-yearly payment practices submissions by reviewing AP data for accuracy, providing commentary and explanations for late payments, preparing data summaries and submissions, and conducting data walkthroughs with the Financial Controller and CFO for approval.
Regulatory Reporting
Support quarterly FCA returns, including preparation of quarterly financials for regulated entities.
Ad Hoc Projects
Contribute to special projects and additional tasks as required to support the team and business objectives.
