Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Driver/Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently handling materials, operating forklifts safely, and supporting warehouse operations to ensure smooth and timely processing of goods. Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, move, and position materials within the warehouse and shipping areas
- Assist with inventory management using warehouse management systems to track stock levels and locations accurately
- Load and unload shipments efficiently, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs on forklifts and other warehouse machinery to maintain optimal performance
- Support shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation
- Handle materials with care, applying mechanical knowledge to ensure safe lifting techniques for heavy or bulky items
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace by adhering to safety protocols and warehouse procedures
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a warehouse environment with familiarity in materials handling and shipping/receiving tasks
- Valid forklift certification with demonstrated ability to operate forklifts safely and confidently
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment repair and troubleshooting minor issues
- Experience using warehouse management systems or similar inventory software
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking
- Good math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments accurately
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining attention to detail
