Jackson Hayes Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 1 Teacher for a long-term position in a welcoming primary school near Plymouth. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive school community and make a real impact at a vital stage of pupils’ educational development.
The role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about early learning and keen to establish consistency and strong relationships within a school.
The Role
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Set clear learning objectives and communicate them effectively to pupils
- Create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
- Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback to pupils, parents, and staff
- Maintain high standards of behaviour to support learning
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of learning needs
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance outcomes
- Participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development
- Follow all safeguarding, behaviour, and health & safety policies

Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1
- Strong classroom management skills
- Confident and adaptable teaching approach
- Excellent communication skills
- A nurturing and proactive teaching style
- A clear commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare
