Residential Support Worker
We are looking for a full-time, permanent SENIOR residential support workers for Bayleaf’s newest 3-bedded children’s home in Littleover, near Derby that looks after young people with learning disabilities, autism and challenging behaviour. The salary is £17.31 to £18.27p per hour with the option of overtime in our other children’s homes.
The home is situated 3 miles from Derby, 8 miles from Burton, 14 miles from Ashbourne, 18 miles from Nottingham, 25 miles from Loughborough and 20 miles from Lichfield.

The Pastures is situated in the heart of a beautiful village of Littleover which is in the suburbs of Derby, and although it is only 2-3 miles from Derby it still retains that village feel with local pubs and shops.

We operate entirely on the ground floor with a large, beautiful garden, our environment is open, airy, and truly a "home from home."
About Bayleaf Care

Bayleaf is expanding with more children’s homes on the horizon and in 2026 we are also opening 2 special schools, 2 leaving care homes and 3 CQC registered adult homes so are all our young people can remain in our care by transitioning into these services.
Each children’s home has their own permanent on-site therapist and a pool car.
Job overview:
The role of a senior residential support worker is lead the team of residential workers on shift by offering support and guidance. To provide 24-hour care and support to the young people in our care. This is a residential children’s home so there are practical duties such as general cooking and cleaning but there are also lots of fun things to do, engaging the young people with activities both inside and outside of the home.
A caring and supportive attitude is essential for this role, and we welcome people that have experience with working with young people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour in a senior capacity.
The salary is £17.31p - £18.27p per hour depending on whether you have completed the Level 3 or 4. Sleep-ins are paid at £55
Total salary is between £39,010 to £40,853 plus the opportunity to do overtime at any of the other children’s homes.
There are waking night staff, but the seniors will be expected to sleep-in every shift, approximately 10 times per month.
The shift pattern is 1 day on 2 days off
Shifts start at 7am to 11pm, sleep-ins are 11pm to 7am, finish 7.30am after handover.
It is an OFSTED requirement that candidates have either the level 3 or 4 in children’s residential qualification or working towards it.
There is a comprehensive induction, ongoing training, fantastic career prospects as the company continues to grow.
Car drivers are essential so that our young people can be transported to education, appointments and activities.
