Receptionist & Administration Assistant
Location: Hitchin Town Centre
Salary: From £26,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
About the role
We're looking for a friendly, confident and organised Receptionist & Administration Assistant to join our team in Hitchin.
You'll be the first person many of our clients speak to or meet, so we're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys dealing with people and can provide a warm, professional welcome.
But this role is much more than answering the phone.
You'll also play an important part in keeping our busy office running smoothly, helping with client administration, maintaining accurate information on our systems and supporting colleagues across the business.
Accuracy really matters to us. You'll regularly enter and update client information, so you'll need to be someone who naturally pays attention to the small details, checks their work and notices when something doesn't look right.
What you'll be doing
Your day will be varied and will include:
- Welcoming clients and visitors to the office and making sure they receive a great first impression.
- Answering incoming telephone calls confidently and directing enquiries to the right person.
- Monitoring shared email inboxes and ensuring messages are dealt with or passed on promptly.
- Supporting our client onboarding process, including entering client information and assisting with administrative and AML checks.
- Updating and maintaining accurate information on our internal systems.
- Managing incoming and outgoing post.
- Arranging meetings and ensuring meeting rooms are prepared and client-ready.
- Helping to keep reception, meeting rooms and shared office areas organised and well stocked.
- Booking training and assisting with general office and maintenance arrangements.
- Providing administrative support to our management team when required.
- Spotting things that need doing and taking the initiative to get them sorted.
Who we're looking for
You don't need to have worked in an accountancy practice before, and we're happy to teach you our systems and processes.
What matters much more to us is your attitude and approach.
You'll be a great fit if:
- You're confident and comfortable speaking to people both face-to-face and over the telephone.
- You're friendly, approachable and naturally helpful.
- You have excellent attention to detail and take pride in getting things right.
- You're comfortable using computers and learning new systems.
- You're organised and able to manage several different tasks without losing track of the details.
- You're proactive and don't always need to wait to be asked before getting something done.
- You're dependable and understand the importance of following tasks through to completion.
- You enjoy working as part of a team and are happy to help where needed.
Previous reception, administration or office experience would be helpful, but it isn't essential.
We'd also love to hear from people with strong customer-service experience from areas such as hospitality, retail or other client-facing roles who are now looking to develop their career in a professional office environment.
What we offer
- Salary from £26,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- WPA health benefits..
- Regular team and social events.
- Full training on our internal systems and processes.
- A friendly and supportive team environment.
- The opportunity to develop your skills and take on more responsibility as you grow within the role.
Interested?
Please send us your CV together with a short introduction telling us why you think you'd be particularly good at reception and dealing with clients.
We'd love to hear from you.
