Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join one of our exciting and busy After School Club teams, working with children age 4-11 years. This role is pivotal in supporting the daily operations of the club, ensuring high standards of care, supervision and education for children. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a passion for early childhood education, contributing to a nurturing atmosphere where children can thrive and have fun.
*There is also the opportunity to Manage one of our smaller clubs two of the days each week, once settled into this role- a great opportunity if you are seeking promotion opportunities with support from our existing Manager.
Duties
- Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations and staff management.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and educational regulations.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for children, parents, and staff.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and well-being.
- Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in childcare and early education.
- Drive initiatives to enhance the club's reputation within the community.
Skills
- You must hold a childcare Level 3 qualification.
- Proven experience in childcare or early childhood education settings.
- Strong leadership abilities with effective management skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to engage with children positively and empathetically.
- Knowledge of best practices in childcare.
- Experience working with children of various ages, fostering their development through play-based learning.
Hours & Pay Rate
Working hours are during Term Time at After school Club 2.30pm - 5.30/6.15pm. Ideally 4/5 days a week, but we are happy to consider a 2/3 day a week job share. *Breakfast Club hours are also available 7.20-8.50am, 3-5 days a week.
We also run Holiday clubs & if interested, we may also have additional hours available here, with shifts during the hours of 7.45-5.30pm.
Rate of pay is dependant on age, qualifications and experience.
