Shadwell Estate is seeking a hardworking, flexible and personable Estate Worker to join our Estate Team. This is a varied and rewarding role with a significant focus on supporting the welfare and management of our company flock, alongside a range of estate and agricultural maintenance activities.
About the Role
Set within a beautiful 6,000-acre estate, this position offers the opportunity to work closely with our Shepherd and be involved in all aspects of sheep husbandry throughout the year, including:
- Sheep handling and daily welfare checks
- Lambing
- Dipping and parasite control
- Foot trimming and lameness management
- Vaccinations and veterinary procedures
- General flock management and husbandry
In addition to livestock work, you will support wider estate operations including:
- Tractor driving and agricultural machinery operation
- Grassland and paddock maintenance
- Fencing and hedge maintenance
- Estate conservation projects
- General estate maintenance duties
No two days are the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied outdoor role.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced working with sheep/livestock
- Hardworking, reliable and willing to get stuck in
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities
- Personable with a positive, team-focused attitude
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
- Competent in tractor driving and agricultural machinery operation
- In possession of a full UK driving licence
Having your own sheepdog would be a distinct advantage, although not essential.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm
- Alternate weekends for livestock welfare checks
- Time off in lieu provided for additional hours worked
