Summary
The Street Light Project Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and closing street lighting projects while ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with the contractual requirements and applicable regulations. This role oversees subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders throughout all phases of street lighting installation, maintenance, upgrade, and LED conversion projects.
Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage street lighting asset management programs from initiation through project closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and performance metrics.
- Coordinate capital improvement and LED conversion projects.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to ensure performance objectives are met.
- Lead project meetings and provide status updates to senior leadership.
Asset Management
- Oversee the development and maintenance of comprehensive streetlight asset inventories.
- Manage asset lifecycle planning, condition assessments, and replacement programs.
- Utilize GIS, CMMS, and asset management software to track asset performance and maintenance history.
- Analyze asset data to identify trends, optimize maintenance strategies, and improve operational efficiency.
- Develop long-term asset management plans and capital replacement forecasts.
Operations and Maintenance Oversight
- Manage routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Ensure service requests, work-orders, and emergency repairs are addressed within contractual response times.
- Monitor contractor and field crew performance against established service level agreements (SLAs).
- Conduct field inspections to verify quality, safety, and compliance standards.
- Support emergency response efforts during storms, outages, and infrastructure incidents.
Financial Management
- Track project costs, expenditures, forecasts, and financial performance.
- Review contractor invoices, change orders, and project expenditures.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and operational efficiencies.
- Ensure accurate billing and financial reporting.
Stakeholder Relations
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through effective communication and problem resolution.
- Present project updates, performance reports, and asset management strategies to leadership.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and team members to ensure alignment with strategic project execution.
Safety and Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA and EQUANS safety requirements.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Support safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Maintain compliance with environmental and permitting requirements related to street lighting infrastructure.
Requirements / Qualification
- Is authorized to work in the US;
- Is qualified to pass a background check
- Strong understanding of asset management principles and lifecycle planning.
- Knowledge of street lighting infrastructure, LED lighting systems, controls, and electrical distribution systems.
- Experience with GIS, CMMS, and asset management platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Combination of office and field environments.
- Regular travel to project sites.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- Valuable experience in Scheduling and workforce planning is considered an asset.
- Construction Management, Project Management, Public Administration, Business, or related field preferred..
- Minimum 3 years of project management experience in infrastructure, utilities, transportation, public works, lighting systems, or asset management.
- Experience in managing municipal or public-sector contracts preferred.
- Experience with street lighting systems, electrical infrastructure, or smart city technologies preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets, schedules, contractors, and client relationships.
