Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester/ Vehicle Technician to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections in accordance with legal standards, ensuring vehicles meet required safety and environmental criteria. Alongside carrying out complete a wide range of vehicle maintenance and repair work. From advanced diagnostics & repairs to routine services This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and a passion for vehicle safety. The position involves working in a professional environment where precision, efficiency, and adherence to safety protocols are paramount. Role is Monday- Friday, no weekend working.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive MOT tests on a variety of vehicle makes and models in line with current legislation and manufacturer specifications.
- Use specialised testing equipment and hand tools to assess vehicle components such as brakes, lights, suspension, tyres, and emissions systems.
- Complete a wide range of vehicle maintenance and repair work. From advanced diagnostics & repairs to routine services
- Identify faults or potential issues during inspections and communicate findings clearly to customers.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose vehicle issues efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, repairs, and test results in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained regularly to uphold testing standards.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations throughout all activities, including heavy lifting when handling vehicles or parts.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar automotive inspection role.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Full valid driving licence .
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping. This position is ideal for motivated individuals committed to maintaining high safety standards within the automotive industry.
