Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant/Barista to join our vibrant team within a busy aquatic provider. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items in a fast-paced environment, ensuring excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, food safety awareness, and strong organisational skills. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop barista experience within a welcoming setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, maintaining consistency and quality.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, and snacks in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Ensure all food safety procedures are followed diligently to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Serve customers efficiently while providing friendly and attentive service to enhance their experience.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system.
- Maintain a clean and organised work station, including cleaning equipment, utensils, and surfaces regularly.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service without compromising quality.
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers.
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Knowledge of food safety standards is desirable to ensure compliance with hygiene regulations but training can be provided.
- Experience in serving customers with excellent communication skills.
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently during peak hours.
- Ability to work well as part of a team in a busy environment and alone when required.
- A positive attitude, reliability, and enthusiasm for delivering outstanding customer service are essential.
- Comfortable around children in this family based setting.
