Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting safety inspections and testing vehicles to ensure compliance with legal standards. Duties
- Conduct MOT tests on a variety of vehicles in accordance with legal requirements and company standards.
- Perform comprehensive safety inspections, including brakes, lights, tyres, suspension, and emissions.
- Use hand tools and power tools to carry out minor repairs or adjustments if necessary during testing procedures.
- Record test results accurately and provide clear reports to customers.
- Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained regularly for accuracy.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment.
- Advise customers on vehicle condition and necessary repairs or maintenance work.
- Comply with health and safety regulations at all times during testing procedures.
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience working on vehicles.
- Valid MOT tester certification recognised by the DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency).
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when required, such as moving tyres or vehicle parts.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
- Good communication skills to explain findings clearly to customers.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A valid driving licence is essential for mobility around the workshop premises. Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
