The Waggon Inn - is a gastro pub operating in its current format for 11 years. A hard earned reputation in the local area needs not just to be maintained but improved upon. The menus have a combination of well established pub favourite dishes and more refined dishes depending on the occasion. The right candidate will need to be able to maintain the level of service quality, whilst working in a fast paced environment as The Waggon Inn is positioned in a prominent location with a high volume of covers.
Salt is a fine dining restaurant situated on the High Street in the picturesque village of Uppermill, Saddleworth. In it's second year of operation, the restaurant has evolved and has established it's position in the local market. Utilising the best ingredients our team of chefs create amazing new dishes; offering a refined approach to dining.
The senior management team have also opened a bar and catering operation in the local area in January 2026 at the local golf club. This caters for golf societies, members events, weddings and other functions in a 90 capacity function room.
All three sites provide the right candidates with a great opportunity for progression.
Duties
- Rounded knowledge of food production, dealing with fresh produce and ensure high-quality standards are maintained.
- Ability to run a section competently and transfer onto other sections where applicable.
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following recipes accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations at all times, strong knowledge of COSHH processes and allergens and their importance.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a culinary role on a section, with expertise in food preparation and cooking.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent teamwork and leadership skills to manage kitchen staff effectively.
- Qualifications in Hospitality or Culinary Arts would be advantageous but a valid food hygiene certificate is essential.
