Small Group Facilitator – South Cambridgeshire

About the Role
We are looking for a Small Group Facilitator to support neurodivergent adults in South Cambridgeshire who may find larger social groups difficult to access.
The role is about creating smaller, more comfortable opportunities for people to meet others, build confidence and feel part of their local community.
Activities will be shaped around what members enjoy. This could include music, table top games, art, shopping, nature, cafés, crafts, games, walks or other local activities. The activity itself is not the main focus — it is a way of helping people feel comfortable and connect with others.
What You’ll Do
You will:
- Plan and facilitate small group activities.
- Support members who may feel anxious, overwhelmed or unsure in larger groups.
- Get to know what helps each person feel comfortable and included.
- Help members meet others in a way that feels manageable for them.
- Create an environment where people can be themselves without feeling pressure to mask or fit in.
- Encourage confidence, choice and independence.
- Work with families, carers and other people in a member’s circle of support where appropriate.
- Help members gradually access other groups or community activities if that is something they want to do.
- Recognise that progress and success will look different for each person.
Who We’re Looking For
No previous experience is required. Training and support will be provided.

- Able to understand that people communicate and socialise in different ways.
- Passionate about neurodivergent people having the same opportunities, choices and access to community life as everyone else.
What We Want to Achieve
The aim is to help members feel safe and comfortable meeting other people, build confidence and develop a stronger sense of connection.
For some people, this may lead to joining larger Safe Soulmates groups or accessing more activities independently. For others, a small group may continue to be the environment that works best for them.
The focus is on what the individual wants and what helps them feel comfortable, included and able to be themselves.
Location
The role will work across South Cambridgeshire, using local community venues and activities that are suitable for the members taking part.
Pay: £15.25 per hour
