Location is Forcewide but with a base station at either Aylesbury, Reading, Milton Keynes or Kidlington / Home (Hybrid).
In this interesting role you will have an oversight of all missing person cases. You will own and support missing person investigations, assisting local police areas to progress live investigations, offering tactical advice and maintaining a consistent approach to ensure Thames Valley Police have an effective and multi-agency response to missing people. You will act as a Single Point of Contact in relevant cases such as low-risk and long-term and with partner agencies and family members to maintain consistency. Closely working with and advising officers and departments in order to mitigate the risk or threat to those who go missing; and working closely with agencies to gather information, whilst researching, developing and evaluating intelligence.
The successful candidate will have the ability to work confidently within a team whilst in a pressurised environment and be able to prioritise demands/cases. You will have good analytical skills to record and capture fine detail with excellent communication skills and the ability to forge positive relationships with individuals at all levels both in and outside the force. The ability to remain emotionally resilient when faced with distressing scenarios is essential. You will be IT literate with an excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Word and Outlook. The ability to travel across the force is also required.
