Job Introduction
We currently have a vacancy for a Section Engineer within our Earthworks & Structures Delivery Unit, working in the WRP team at the West Ruislip Portal.
The West Ruislip Portal team are completing the remaining FRC works to the Headhouse structure before transitioning into the on-site delivery of the MEP and AFO works.
Support the Sub Agent, Agent and Construction Manager in the safe and efficient delivery of a defined section of works, ensuring engineering, quality and programme requirements are achieved.
Lead the engineering control, coordination and technical assurance of the works, ensuring delivery in accordance with the Contract Programme, quality requirements and health, safety and environmental standards.
Provide day-to-day leadership, mentoring and technical support to Graduate Engineers, Site Engineers and the wider delivery team.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate engineering activities for the completion of the Headhouse FRC works and subsequent MEP and AFO fit out packages.

Review drawings, specifications, technical submissions and work package plans, identifying risks, clashes, errors or omissions and coordinating resolutions with design, construction and quality teams.

Develop short-term programmes, track progress against key milestones and support the team in identifying and implementing recovery actions where required.

Manage subcontractor engineering interfaces, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with approved designs, specifications and quality requirements.

Plan and requisition engineering resources, materials and temporary works requirements to support efficient delivery of the construction programme.

Maintain accurate records of inspections, quality documentation, red-line drawings, non-conformances and change control activities.

Keep comprehensive site records including daily diaries, progress updates, site instructions and records of stakeholder discussions.

Prepare, review and implement inspection and test plans, risk assessments and method statements, ensuring compliance throughout delivery.

Promote continuous improvement and share engineering best practice across the project team.

Support cost, change and progress reporting through accurate engineering records and production of required project information.

Interface with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate FRC, MEP and AFO activities and manage construction constraints.

Ensure engineering deliverables, permits, inspections and handovers are completed to support progressive turnover of the Headhouse asset.

Coordinate interfaces between civil, structural, MEP and architectural disciplines to achieve safe and efficient delivery.

Set the highest standards for health, safety, quality and environmental performance.
The Ideal Candidate
- Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, or HND with relevant engineering experience.

Understanding of Engineering Principles

Good understanding of technical specifications and engineering assurance processes.

Strong technical knowledge of reinforced concrete construction, building fit out, MEP coordination and construction best practice.

Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, Document control system, Primavera software).

Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management
