About the role
We're looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead and manage engineering activities across a portfolio of projects at Sellafield. This is a key leadership role, responsible for driving engineering delivery, developing high-performing teams, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
As Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead, coordinate and oversee all design and engineering activities across multiple projects. You'll act as the primary engineering point of contact, managing both internal and external engineering resources while supporting project delivery from pre-construction through to completion
What you'll be doing
- Lead and manage all engineering functions across a portfolio of Sellafield projects.
- Act as the principal engineering interface between BBK, clients and key stakeholders.
- Support bid submissions and work-winning activities, ensuring alignment with project strategy and contractual objectives.
- Lead and present engineering updates at customer, operational and business meetings.
- Develop engineering strategies, design management plans and design quality plans.
- Manage multidisciplinary engineering teams and subject matter experts to deliver project requirements.
- Ensure engineering documentation and work packs are completed on time, within budget and are buildable.
- Identify and implement Modern Methods of Construction, including DfMA and PPMOF solutions.
- Provide oversight of project planning, programme assurance, risk management and technical delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
Who we're looking for
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional qualification or membership within an engineering institution.
- Chartered status (or working towards) is highly desirable.
- Significant experience leading engineering functions within regulated industries.
- Proven track record in the management of multidisciplinary engineering projects.
- Strong experience in design development, design reviews and engineering governance.
- Confident managing client relationships and providing technical leadership.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to build and develop high-performing engineering teams in complex project environments.
- Demonstrable experience managing engineering risks, constraints and project delivery challenges.
- Passion for innovation, continuous improvement and delivering engineering excellence.
- Able to obtain a security clearance.
