If you are looking for a role where you can properly own operations rather than just manage the day to day, this could be it. You will have the scope to build the structure and systems that let our growing business scale without things falling over, and you will see the direct results of your work.
You will work closely with the Owner as their operational right hand, with real influence over how the business runs and grows. This is a business where your input shapes strategy, not just delivers it.
What you will get out of the role:
- Genuine ownership of operations, not a title without the authority to back it up
- A direct line to the Owner and a real seat at the table for strategic decisions
- The chance to build something from the ground up, including a centralised customer service function and a management team that actually delivers
- Room to bring in your own ideas on process, data and structure, rather than following someone else's playbook
- A growing business where your impact on profitability and customer experience will be visible and valued
What you will be doing:
- Bringing customer service into one function that works across every division
- Fixing how jobs get scheduled, allocated and quoted
- Reducing wasted engineer travel time and the costs that come with it
- Building KPIs and dashboards so decisions are based on data, not guesswork
- Coaching a management team to own their teams' performance, rather than simply follow instructions
- Protecting margins while keeping service standards high
What we are looking for:
- Senior operations experience, ideally in field service, engineering, plumbing, renewables, construction or utilities management
- A genuine track record of transforming operations within a growing SME
- Experience building or scaling customer service and operations teams
- Strong commercial judgement and confidence using data to drive improvement
- A history of developing managers and embedding accountability into a team
- Experience with field service management software or a continuous improvement background would be an advantage, though not essential.
If this sounds like the next challenge that you have been looking for, we would love to hear from you.
