We are looking for Embroidery Machine Operator and Print Design Assistant.
The Direct Co Group is a schoolwear and workwear supplier. We have a dedicated print and embroidery studio. This consists of:
7 Single Head Amaya Embroidery Machines
DTG (Direct To Garment) Print Machine
DTF Print Machines
LASER Cutter Machines
Heat Transfer and Heat Press Machinery
Vinyl Cutting Machine
We mainly specialise in Schoolwear, but we have been expanding our workwear and promotional wear offerings. We are the preferred supplier to many local small businesses and film production companies, providing bespoke garments with rapid turnaround.
During the Summer (our peak season), we dedicate 95% of our production to Schoolwear to help our retail arm of the business. Our Peak season is hectic and requires more extended hours, so you should be prepared.
There are 2-3 members of the Embroidery Team
You will be assisting the existing Embroidery Senior Team with:
Embroidery & Print Management:
- Learning & Studying the complete process of ALL parts of the Embroidery and Print Studio Area.
- Making Sure Production will be finished in time
This includes the following:
- Equipment Maintenance
- Cleaning of machinery and workspaces
- Assisting with all aspects of embroidery
- Picking and preparation of items
- Target hitting for production times
- Ensuring the maximum efficiency is being utilised in the embroidery process.
Design Production Assistant:
- Responsible for using our production equipment, including but not limited to: DTG, Heatpress
- Vinyl Cutting Machine.
- Using the equipment to produce the company's requirements
Tailor/Seamster/Seamstress
- If you have any experience in this. We usually require minor tailoring and label changes.
Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience in some of the above.
Hours and Pay
Depending on Age and Experience:
- £12.75 - £13.25 Per Hour *Starting Basic*
- Pay review within 3-6 months.
- Paid for every minute you work (no unaccounted overtime)
- 12.07% Holiday Accrual (Uncapped)
- Health Care Package (After 6 Months)
Hours:
Full Time
Approximately 30-38 hours per week currently during our peak season (July-Sept). This will increase to around 38-40 hours per week. With a heavy focus for 3 weeks during our Super Peak Season (Which will be 40+ Hours for 3 weeks)
There will be occasional weekend work (split between you and your colleagues)
Hours:
Part Time
Minimum of 24 hours, including at least one weekend day.
We operate :
Monday - Friday (9 am - 7.30 pm)
Saturday (11 am - 5 pm)
Sunday (12 - 4 pm)
Although you are not expected to work all hours we are open, the above outlines our operating hours.
