We are a well-established, family-run independent butchers in Banstead with a strong reputation for excellent quality and customer service,. We’ve been serving the local community for many years and pride ourselves on traditional butchery skills and friendly customer care.
The Role
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Butcher to join our two man team. You’ll be working behind the counter and in the preparation area, handling all aspects of meat preparation, cutting, and sales.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Break down whole carcasses and prepare joints, steaks, mince, sausages, and other cuts to customer requirements
✅ Use mincers, slicers, and other butchery equipment safely and efficiently
✅ Serve customers, give advice on cuts, cooking methods, and portion sizes
✅ Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety at all times
✅ Follow all HACCP guidelines and legal health & safety regulations
✅ Help with stock rotation, ordering, and keeping the display counter looking fresh and appealing
✅ Make homemade sausages, burgers, and ready meals where required
What We’re Looking For
✅ Experience: Proven experience as a butcher — either fully qualified or with solid hands-on retail butchery experience
✅ Skills: Able to cut meat accurately, work quickly, and handle tools safely
✅ Knowledge: Understanding of different meat types, cuts, and food safety standards
✅ Attitude: Honest, reliable, good communicator, and happy to work as part of a team
✅ Eligibility: Right to work in the UK
Newly qualified butchers or apprentices looking to progress are also welcome to apply.
