Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our NIGHT team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care to our residents in a care home setting. You will be responsible for supervising junior staff, implementing care plans, and ensuring the wellbeing of our senior residents. Your leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively will be essential in fostering a supportive and nurturing environment.
Duties
- 3 or 4 Nights per week 19:30-07:30 with alternate weekends
- Reliability is absolutely essential
- Supervise and support all care staff in their daily responsibilities
- Ensure every resident is given their correct dose of medication in the night
- Complete tasks as diarised by day Senior staff
- Escalate any concerns to health teams during the night depending on the concerns of the people we support
- Develop and implement individualised care plans tailored to each resident's needs
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation
- Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their condition
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care
- Promote a positive atmosphere within the care home through engaging activities and social interaction
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as company policies
Experience
- Previous experience in senior care or within a care home environment is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise a team effectively
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with residents compassionately
- Proficiency in IT systems relevant to care management and documentation
- A genuine drive to improve the quality of life for seniors through attentive and personalised care
