Café Cook Job Advertisement
Part-time Cook required to join our friendly team in the community café set in Didsbury Park.
Hrs: Thursdays & Fridays 9.00am – 5.30pm, Sundays 8.45am – 5.30pm (9.00am-4.30pm in winter)
Plus, occasional extra hours as and when required.
You must have a minimum of two years’ experience working as a chef/cook in an independent venue such as care home, pub, school cook, or similar.
You must be able to adhere to hygiene and food standard agency requirements as well as our policies and procedures. Ideally already possessing a level 3 hygiene certificate.
You must enjoy working as part of a small, close-knit team.
The Role:
An experienced Cook, who can work on own initiative. Reporting directly to the Café Manager and working closely with the other team members. The Café Cook will:
- Be responsible for planning, preparing, cooking and serving good quality, simple, wholesome food to our café customers and to the DGN centre who provide a lunch club for their members twice a week. (taking into account any special dietary needs).
- Play an important part in assisting the café manager in all aspects of SFBB (safer food for better business).
- Complete any necessary paperwork such as COSHH, HACPP.
- Adhere to the Café’s Food & Hygiene policies and procedures
- Cater for the special events using the DGN centre event space. (parties, funerals, etc)
- Bake Cakes for sale in the café and for use in DGN centre.
- Work closely with the Café Manager on food stock purchase and menu development.
- Provide Barista service for Cafe customers. (training will be given if necessary)
- Serve café customers if required.
- Help Maintain cleanliness of the Café.

Didsbury Pavilion Café (DPCL) is an independent café located in Didsbury Park. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Didsbury Good Neighbours (DGN), a charity based in the Didsbury Neighbourhood Centre. All profits from the Café are transferred to the charity and its staff work closely with the Charity team, providing a valuable community asset for local people.
The café is open 7 days per week, 9.00-5.00 Summer 9.00 - 4.00 Winter
