Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Level 2/3 Care Assistant to provide compassionate support and assistance during daytime hours within a care home environment. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents throughout the day. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring care, working within a supportive and professional team.
- Support residents with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Assist with mealtimes, including serving meals and supporting residents with eating and hydration
- Monitor residents’ wellbeing throughout the day, responding promptly to any needs or concerns
- Follow individual care plans to deliver tailored support and ensure residents’ needs are met effectively
- Engage residents in meaningful activities and provide companionship to enhance their quality of life
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, incidents, and observations during your shift
- Ensure a safe and clean environment by adhering to health and safety procedures
- Support with light domestic duties such as tidying rooms and communal areas
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals regarding residents’ wellbeing
Skills
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with elderly residents, including those living with dementia
A minimum of 12 months’ care experience is required, along with an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards it).
This role is ideal for individuals committed to providing high-quality care during daytime hours, ensuring residents feel valued, supported, and respected.
- A calm, caring, and friendly manner with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team while also using initiative when required
- Basic IT skills to accurately record information using electronic systems
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to follow care plans attentively
- A compassionate attitude with a genuine passion for caring for others
