PART-TIME MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT
A part-time Maintenance Assistant is required for a family-run nursing home in Fifield, Berkshire. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of our Maintenance Manager and assist with the day-to-day upkeep of the home and its grounds.
Hours:
· 16 hours per week
· Preferably Mondays and Fridays
· Flexibility is essential, as occasional work on other days may be required
Key Responsibilities:
· General maintenance and repair work throughout the nursing home
· Basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, building, and decorating tasks
· Grounds maintenance, including basic gardening and lawn mowing
· Assisting with moving and handling tasks
· Working at height when required
· Assisting with routine safety checks, including fire alarm and nurse call systems
· Maintaining a safe, clean, and well-presented environment for residents, visitors, and staff
Essential Requirements:
· Proven experience in general maintenance and repair work
· Good all-round handyman/handyperson skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Reliable, practical, and proactive approach to work
· Willingness to undertake a variety of maintenance tasks
Desirable:
· Own transport
· Previous experience working within a care home, healthcare, or similar environment
Additional Information: A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required for the successful applicant and will be arranged by the employer.
Salary: Negotiable, depending on previous maintenance experience, skills, and qualifications.
Pay: From £13.29 per hour
