Overview
We are seeking a skilled Windscreen Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing windscreens on a variety of vehicles, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Duties
- Remove damaged or broken windscreens using appropriate tools and techniques
- Prepare vehicle surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of new windscreens
- Install new windscreens accurately, ensuring proper fit and seal integrity
- Repair minor windscreen chips or cracks when applicable
- Use hand tools and power tools to carry out installations and repairs efficiently
- Handle heavy lifting tasks safely when manoeuvring large or heavy windscreens
- Maintain a clean and organised work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Conduct quality checks post-installation to confirm the windscreen's secure fit and finish
- Follow all health and safety regulations during operations to minimise risks
Experience
- Mechanical knowledge or background is highly desirable
- Experience with hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, and scrapers is preferred
- Familiarity with power tools used in automotive glass installation is advantageous
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely (up to 25kg) is essential
- Prior experience in automotive repair or glass fitting is beneficial but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship are required
