Duties
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements and procedures
- Operate a variety of welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, arc, and plasma welders, to join metal parts accurately
- Use programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to automate and control welding processes for enhanced precision and efficiency
- Conduct inspections of welds using visual assessment and testing methods such as ultrasonic or X-ray techniques to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain detailed records of welding activities, including inspection reports, maintenance logs, and process documentation
- Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and troubleshoot electrical or mechanical issues as needed
- Collaborate with team members to supervise workflow, provide guidance on technical tasks, and ensure safety protocols are followed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in welding with a strong understanding of various techniques such as MIG, TIG, arc, and plasma welding
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints with ease
- Electrical experience or knowledge of electrical systems related to welding equipment is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues and performing maintenance tasks effectively
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for process automation is a plus
- Strong supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or fabrication setting
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and team collaboration
- Customer service mindset to ensure client specifications are met with professionalism and quality focus
- Demonstrated ability to oversee safety procedures and promote a safe working environment

Pay: £15.00-£17.00 per hour
