Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant team in our friendly family nursery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to providing high-quality care and learning experiences for children. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that encourages children's development and growth. This is a permanent position. A qualified level 2 or above practitioner would be preferred, although someone who has worked in childcare and/or a desire to work with young children and a willingness to train may be considered. The position would be to work 4 full days (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) preferably 8am to 6.15pm.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily activities and routines within the nursery, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all children.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to build strong relationships and support children's needs.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning through play, creativity, and exploration.
- Observe and assess children's progress, documenting their development and sharing insights with parents.
- Support children in their social, emotional, and physical development while encouraging independence.
- Collaborate with the nursery team to maintain high standards of care and education in line with regulatory requirements.
- Drive initiatives that enhance the nursery's environment and contribute to its overall success.
Experience
- Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is preferred.
- A qualification in Early Childhood Education or related field is highly desirable but not essential.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire both children and colleagues.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children, parents, and staff.
- A genuine passion for childcare and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
