We are looking for a Trainee Accountant / AAT Apprentice to join our growing team in
Rayleigh, Essex.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic, hardworking and keen

No previous accountancy practice experience is required. We will provide full training
and support towards your AAT qualification, alongside valuable hands-on experience
working within a busy accountancy practice.
You will learn from experienced accountants and gradually develop the skills and
confidence to take responsibility for your own client work.
The Role
As a Trainee Accountant, you will receive training across a broad range of accountancy
services, giving you a strong foundation for your future career.
Your responsibilities will develop as your knowledge and experience grows and will
include:
- Assisting with bookkeeping for a variety of clients.
- Processing purchase and sales invoices.
- Posting accounting transactions.
- Completing bank reconciliations.
- Assisting with VAT returns.
- Assisting with the preparation of management accounts.
- Assisting with year-end accounts.
- Maintaining accurate client records.
- Assisting with payroll where required.
- Preparing spreadsheets and financial information.
- Supporting senior members of the team with client work.
- Liaising with clients to obtain information when required.
- Learning to use accounting software and practice management systems.
- Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Developing an understanding of UK accounting and tax principles.
As you progress through your AAT qualification, your responsibilities will increase and
you will be given the opportunity to take on more complex accounting work and greater
responsibility for clients.
AAT Training & Development

practical experience and support alongside your studies.

About You
You don’t need to have worked in accountancy before. We are much more interested in
your attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

Qualifications
Ideally, you will have:
- GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above.
- A-levels or equivalent qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
- An interest in business, finance, accounting or economics would be beneficial.
Previous work experience is not essential.
We would also consider candidates who have some previous bookkeeping,
administration or finance experience but are looking to develop their career and study
towards AAT.
