Night Manager
Your role is to lead the front of house team during the night provide a naturally friendly, helpful and responsive level of service for our guests as well as to ensure the hotel runs in a safe orderly manner during the night/day.
This role suits someone who’s flexible, well organised, possess excellent communication skills, can work on their own initiative as well as motivating others and have a genuine desire to work in the hospitality industry.
Key responsibilities
- Support the night team conducting arrival and departure processes whenever required
- Ensure the accuracy of guest billing
- Manage the hotel during the night to ensure guests and team are well cared for
- Ensure the accuracy of data in all systems and provide the necessary daily reports for all departments
- Ensuring team are always in correct uniform and represent our organisation in the best possible way
- Ensuring all legal, health and safety requirements are met at all times, action any potential audit points within given timelines
- Manage the daily overbooking levels and liaise with all departments to ensure maximum occupancy
- Assist the Front Office Manager in any queries
- Assist and Manage the devising of SOP’s
- Managing no-shows, cancellations and liaising with reservations team where applicable
- Ensure all guests are quoted the correct rate as per the selling strategy and website
- Ensure all telephone calls are answered as quickly and efficiently as possible
- Maintain observation over guests and guests’ property to ensure security alerts are kept to a minimum
- Ensure the team is well motivated and informed of day to day activity
- Lead night team in recruitment, training and development
- Monitor the performance of the team and gives regular feedback regularly
- Collaborate with all hotel’s departments
- Handling guest complaints and supporting wider team empowerment across the business
- Communicate daily with your Line Manager any issues resolved or needing follow up
- Ensure the public area and back of house areas are maintained at all times
- Respond to online guest reviews on Trip Advisor, Expedia, Booking.com, and others as requested by your line manager
- Along with your main duties, you will also be expected to carry out any other duties that are reasonably asked of you.
