Part-Time Musical Instrument Teachers (2026)
RockEast Music School – Stowmarket
RockEast Music School is looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, and inspiring part-time Guitar Teacher to join our growing team in 2026.
Lessons will be in small groups of 3 - 6 students and aimed very much at beginner level. There may be the opportunity to teach a few 1 to 1 lessons when the schedule allows.
Hours & Availability
- Teachers usually start with a small number of weekly hours (often on one day), with opportunities to build hours and additional days as demand grows.
- At present, we may not have fixed hours available, but we are keen to connect with teachers interested in building teaching hours over time.
- There are also opportunities for cover work when our regular teachers are away.
- Occasional 1-to-1 lessons may be available, typically outside of peak group-class hours.
Most teaching takes place after school during term time, with some optional holiday work.
The Role
You will:
- Teach engaging group lessons using a layered and cyclical teaching approach
- Help students develop musical skills, confidence, and creativity
- Create a fun, positive, and inclusive learning environment
- Work alongside the Lead Tutor on lesson content and curriculum development

- Has good music theory knowledge and reading ability
- Can confidently lead and manage a room of young learners
- Has a warm, approachable personality with strong communication skills
- Lives fairly locally to the Stowmarket area
