Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Manager to oversee and optimise our supply chain operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing transportation and distribution activities, ensuring seamless coordination across all logistics functions. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead process improvements, utilise advanced systems, and contribute to the efficiency of our logistics network. The ideal applicant will possess strong leadership qualities and proficiency with various logistics software tools.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and oversee daily logistics, transport and distribution operations to ensure efficient movement of customer goods.
- Develop efficient transport schedules and delivery plans to maximise vehicle utilisation, minimise operating costs and achieve service level agreements.
- Monitor shipment progress, resolve transport delays, delivery issues and customer enquiries, ensuring prompt and effective solutions.
- Ensure all logistics operations comply with transport legislation, customs procedures, health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate logistics records, transport documentation, delivery schedules, invoices and operational reports.
- Coordinate urgent, scheduled and time-sensitive deliveries while ensuring customer requirements are consistently met.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in logistics management or supply chain roles within a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Strong knowledge of category management, process optimisation, and supply chain principles.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to lead process improvements effectively.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex data sets and making strategic decisions.
- Effective leadership abilities with excellent communication skills.
