Role Summary and Personal Attributes required
Our Laboratory Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Development Laboratory. This includes conducting technical testing, supporting product development, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results. The role requires a hands-on individual with a strong understanding of laboratory equipment, testing procedures, and quality standards.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Take responsibility for maintaining a clean, safe, and organised laboratory environment.
- Operate and care for laboratory equipment, ensuring it is used correctly and maintained regularly.
- Carry out laboratory tests on raw materials, production samples, and finished goods following established procedures.
- Conduct testing and analysis of competitor samples to support benchmarking and product development.
- Assist in maintaining and updating datasets for existing products, ensuring accurate and accessible technical records.
- Support the Technical Team with new product development projects, including testing, documentation, and sample preparation.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation, including test reports, Technical Data Sheet (TDS) and Certificates of Analysis (CoA).
- Help maintain and update regulatory documentation, including supplier Statements of Compliance (SoCs) and food contact material records.
- Coordinate the dispatch and tracking of samples for external laboratory testing.
- Learn and apply new testing methods and contribute to the development of improved lab procedures.
- Work closely with other departments to support production trials, quality checks, and technical projects.
- Participate in internal audits and support the implementation of hygiene, quality, and environmental standards.
- Take part in special projects or other duties as assigned by the Technical Manager/ Head of Technical.
